Originally from New England I am proud to now call Pasadena my home. I graduated from Boston College with my Masters in Social Work with a focus on clinical work with clients suffering from some form of relationship conflict or trauma. I bring years of experience to the table and provide a comfortable setting with you and your loved ones while we explore the effect conflict has had on you and your relationships. Together we will stop letting traumatic events and conflict dictate how you feel, treat others or allow yourself to be treated. You and I will collaborate to reduce the effects of past trauma and abuse, marital stress, or family stress and work together to find solutions that work for you and provide healing. You are the expert in your own life and I consider us partners working towards the goals that matter to you. No matter the season, childhood, adolescence or adulthood, there is always time to heal and move towards the relationships you want to experience. Your lowest moments in life do not need to define your story or your future.

Narrative Therapy is the guiding voice in all my sessions and is a non-blaming approach which assumes people to be the experts in their own lives. I believe problems are separate from people and that my clients already have the skills and abilities to assist in their own treatment and effect change. Through a continuous stance of curiosity and exploration, clients come to understand that they are on a journey of self-reflection and understand themselves in a way that allows them to move forward.

Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an evidenced based practice that helps children and adolescents recover after trauma. This is a structured, short-term treatment model that effectively improves a range of trauma-related outcomes with the child/adolescent and caregiver. This model also effectively addresses many other trauma symptoms, including anxiety or depression related to the trauma, cognitive and behavioral problems, as well as improving the participating parent’s or caregiver’s personal distress about the child’s traumatic experience, effective parenting skills, and supportive interactions with the child.

Brief Strategic Family Therapy is a culturally sensitive family approach, which focuses on the family as a whole. I examine the family structure and patterns of behavior that may be leading to conflict and then after making the family aware of these patterns task the family to create positive change in order to assist the family in resolving concerns and increase family wellness. Family members are able to express themselves and take action towards building a healthier family. It is a structured, problem-focused, directive, and practical approach that allows relationships to develop and strengthen with each session.
