30 Nov Manifesting your Dreams
I don’t know why, but for some reason, when you hit a certain age it’s like you all of sudden become obsessed with HGTV. I used to make fun of my mom for sitting in front of the TV for hours watching shows like House Hunters or Property Brothers, and now I find myself watching those same types of shows. There’s something oddly satisfying about yelling at the TV as a couple clearly makes the wrong decision for the house that they want during an episode of House Hunters. Seeing a rundown house get repaired into something straight out of home and décor magazine makes my skin tingle with excitement. And more than that, I’m able to find inspiration. I don’t have a home, and I probably won’t have one for a very long time, but looking at the shows that you can find on HGTV helps to give me ideas about my future property.
If I could, I would start from scratch when designing my home. I wouldn’t get one that’s already been built. Instead, I would buy some land and begin from the ground up so that my house could look exactly how I envisioned it to look. The style of the house would be what I wanted it to look like. I would have the number of rooms that I wanted in the size that I wanted them to be in. It would be furnished the way I desire. And the back yard would even be designed to my specifications. Now, I’m not going to write about how it would actually look because this would end up being an obnoxiously long post. Just know that it would be gorgeous!
Now if I can spend hours and hours and hours of my life thinking about what my dream home would look like (seriously, I spend a lot of time dreaming about this) then I should definitely be able to devote the same amount of time and energy to designing my own life, and you should too. It’s important that you know what you want out of your life because you’re the one that’s living it. If you want to live the best version of the life you can live then you’re going to have to put in some real effort into getting there. It’s not just going to fall into your lap. You have to be the main architect, but don’t ever be afraid to get some assistance.
I know I said that I’ve imagined how my house will look, but at the end of the day, I don’t know how to design. I’m still going to need a lot of help. There will be people who will actually have to come in and help make my vision become a reality. Construction workers will have to build it and actual designers will have to come in and furnish it, and that’s okay. Sometimes you need help to make your dream become a reality, but you have to be the one who comes up with what you actually want. The outside people can’t help you if they don’t know where to start.
The last thing I’d like to bring up before this post comes to a close is something that I mention time and time again (it’s really important) when writing about dreams and future plans. It’s okay if your vision changes. Nothing is set in stone, which is why it’s okay to readjust. I may have a plan of what my future home will look like now, but who knows what I’ll want when it’s time for me to actually have a house of my own. It might look completely different, and there’s nothing wrong with that. It might even change as I start the process of having it constructed. The point is, that if I want to be happy with the finished product then I’m going to have to also be at peace with accepting and carrying out my new vision, and the same thing goes for what you have planned for your life.
Positive thinker, take the time to really think about what you want from this life. And once you know what you want, go out there and find a way to make it happen for you. Don’t just wait around for it. Work for it, and don’t be afraid to ask for some help to manifest it along the way!
